What is Spine Surgery?
Spine surgery treats problems of the discs, nerves, vertebrae and joints of the neck and back. Common conditions include slipped disc, sciatica, lumbar and cervical spondylosis, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis and spinal deformity.
Most back pain improves without surgery. At Medsovis we first try medicines, physiotherapy and pain management procedures. Surgery is advised only when nerves are badly compressed or conservative treatment has not worked. When surgery is needed, we prefer endoscopic and minimally invasive methods.
Spine Procedures at Medsovis
Microdiscectomy
Removal of the disc part pressing on the nerve. Best for sciatica.
Endoscopic Discectomy
Through a cut of about 8 mm using a camera. Many patients go home next day.
Lumbar Decompression
Creates more space for nerves in spinal stenosis.
Spinal Fusion (TLIF)
Joins vertebrae to stop painful movement in spondylolisthesis.
Cervical Disc Surgery
ACDF or disc replacement for neck disc problems.
Spine Injections
Nerve root blocks and facet injections for pain control without surgery.
